On-Premise to AWS Migration and Managed Services for Mahanagar Gas Limited Reduces TCO by 44%

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of India’s leading natural gas distribution companies, needed an AWS partner to upgrade and migrate its SAP ECC and Enterprise Portal applications from legacy on-premise systems to the cloud. The company wanted to reduce data center costs and technology debt, but lacked the technical expertise and prior experience to manage SAP workloads on AWS, making LTIMindtree’s SAP managed/hosting services a strong fit.

LTIMindtree migrated MGL’s SAP applications to AWS, upgrading Oracle ECC and Enterprise Portal, moving from IBM AIX to Oracle Linux 8.6, and building an AWS landing zone with secure connectivity, disaster recovery, and native monitoring, backup, and governance services. The result was a high-performance, scalable SAP environment with 100% real-time monitoring and about 44% cost savings over three years compared with on-premise spending, significantly lowering MGL’s TCO and operational overhead.
