A LTIMindtree Case Study
Large Academic Medicine Community, a non-profit association serving the academic medicine field, was facing severe database strain with 98% Oracle utilization for only 2,500 users. Its custom PDWS filter searches required complex ad hoc queries across many columns and tables, creating performance bottlenecks and limiting the ability to index for faster retrieval.
LTIMindtree implemented an OpenSearch-based solution, including an interim data bridge to sync data from the MyERAS Oracle database to Amazon OpenSearch in near real time. The new setup improved filter query performance, supported an average of 60 transactions per second, decoupled search from Oracle data structures, and enabled reliable read-only searches on prior-season data that is indexed once instead of rebuilt every season.
