A LS Retail Case Study
Zone is a Canada-based home goods chain founded in 1980 that operates eight stores in Quebec and Ontario under three legal entities (Zone, VdV and Magasin Général Val‑David). Faced with a patchwork of legacy systems—including separate POS, inventory, finance and e‑commerce platforms running on an old SQL network—employees were burdened by daily manual data entry, manual online order shipping and an inability to run ad hoc reports, which constrained growth and complex transfer planning across stores.
Zone implemented LS Nav (built on Microsoft Dynamics NAV) with LS Retail partner The CreaTech Group to unify store and online operations in a single application and database. The new solution eliminated many manual tasks, improved inventory planning and transfer management, integrated the webstore, and delivered a user‑friendly POS that’s easier to train on and lets clerks apply discounts, add items/comments and better monitor online orders—giving Zone stronger control over accounting, payments, layaways, discounts and overall operations.
