Scandlines, one of Europe’s largest ferry operators, needed a fast, integrated on-board sales system to serve passengers on short, high-frequency crossings (like the 45-minute Rødby–Puttgarden route). Their decade-old till system was obsolete and lacked integration with back-office systems, making it hard to manage catering and retail inventory, track sales patterns, control costs, and support loyalty and pre-order BorderShop services across multiple daily departures.

Scandlines implemented LS Nav for Microsoft Dynamics NAV from CGI, providing a unified retail-and-catering solution with menu management, ingredient tracking, supply-chain integration, real-time data feeding to finance/SAP, a webshop/BorderShop integration and a loyalty app. The rollout delivered better BI and budgeting down to unit level, automated pre-orders and stock top-ups, faster checkout (including points/voucher payments), improved table reservations and VAT handling — giving Scandlines a modern, future-proof platform to optimise sales and operations.
