Manipal Cure & Care (MCC) is a pioneering Indian chain combining holistic wellness therapy and retail healthcare across clinics and stores. Facing the need to run clinical care and retail sales from a single, consistent platform, MCC confronted major integration and operational challenges: melding radically different technologies (Java/J2EE and Microsoft), supporting complex POS requirements (loyalty with free consultations, nested deals, service-item accounting, corporate billing, price variance) and meeting stringent clinical data and EMR security needs.
MCC implemented LS Nav (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) integrated with EzEMRx clinical software via HL7 web services, with PwC building the interfaces and a clear split of responsibilities (clinical data in EzEMRx, billing in NAV). The solution delivered centralized drug masters (CIMS-aligned), loyalty, coupons and inventory, two-way lab/equipment integration with barcoded samples, and HIPAA-compliant EMR access across sites. The result: end-to-end visibility, fewer transcription errors, faster operations, lower costs and a scalable platform for rolling out high-tech centers nationwide.
