Grain Field Chickens (GFC) is a South African poultry abattoir and VKB Agriculture subsidiary that supplies major retailers and produces up to 750,000 chickens per week. When GFC opened a combined retail, deli and wholesale store in Sasolburg in January 2016, it needed a single management system that integrated with the VKB Group standard (LS Nav on Microsoft Dynamics NAV), handled fixed- and variable-weight items as well as deli and bulk sales, and also functioned as a local depot feeding the head-office system.

GFC partnered with LS Retail implementer Just Dynamics to deploy LS Nav with specific customizations for the different product types and processes, plus a template database to speed future rollouts. The store went live successfully on 21 January 2016 with aligned head-office replication and no IT-related issues; the implementation proved the software and partner choice, supported growth plans, and increased confidence to expand LS Nav across the VKB group.
