Nicholby's, a 30-location Ontario retail and franchise chain, reinvented one of its properties as Old Firehall Confectionery — an old‑fashioned candy store selling fudge, ice cream and other made‑on‑site items. The project faced a tight timeline and a major systems challenge: their homegrown POS couldn’t handle process‑manufactured products without barcodes, lacked integration with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and forced time‑consuming manual transfers and limited reporting just as they were changing product mix and scaling operations.

EC Advance implemented LS Nav (LS Retail) integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV in a phased rollout, putting POS, store and head‑office functions on a single platform with merchandising, replenishment and BI capabilities. The solution launched on time, enabled POS‑to‑GL visibility, gave hourly sales and forecasting insight, eliminated many manual processes, supported remote selling, and set the company up to roll the system out across future locations for greater operational efficiency and long‑term ROI.
