aswaaq is a UAE-based retail chain that operates community centres combining supermarkets with local shops and services. Facing a fast-growing, highly competitive market and the need to deliver a modern, efficient shopping experience while scaling rapidly, the company sought a flexible, cost-effective IT platform to reduce manual work, speed training, and support innovative customer services.

aswaaq implemented a service-oriented architecture built on Microsoft Dynamics NAV and LS Nav with partner DVS, integrating POS, finance, HR, supply chain, CRM, electronic shelf labels and loyalty systems. Deployed from 2008 onward, the solution standardized operations across stores (now 6 community centres, 10 supermarkets, 3.7M customers and 400 employees), shortened shopping and checkout times, cut manual tasks (electronic shelf labels save ~90% of assistants’ time), lowered training and licensing costs, supported paperless goals, and helped sustain about 14% annual growth.
