Starbucks China achieves FSSC 22000 across 4,000+ stores with LRQA

Starbucks China sought to verify its commitment to food safety and improve its quality management system by achieving FSSC 22000 certification, a globally recognized standard. The challenge was to integrate this standard throughout its extensive supply chain to ensure food safety for consumers. They partnered with the vendor LRQA for certification services.

LRQA certified Starbucks China to the FSSC 22000 standard, ensuring whole-process traceability from ingredient source to the retail terminal. After eighteen months of effort, this resulted in the first full-range FSSC system covering roasting, factory operations, suppliers, and outlets. This achievement significantly improved Starbucks' food safety risk prevention and control, setting a new benchmark for the catering retail industry in China.
