KSB achieves ISO 19443 certification in November 2024 with LRQA

KSB SAS, a global manufacturer of pumps and valves, faced mandatory customer requirements for ISO 19443 certification to compete in the nuclear sector. Their challenge was to deeply integrate nuclear safety culture, implement a graded approach to quality controls, and strengthen supply chain oversight against counterfeit parts. They partnered with the vendor LRQA to achieve this certification.

LRQA provided expert guidance, conducting a gap analysis and thorough Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits. This collaboration helped KSB SAS develop role-based training for 200 personnel and implement a graded approach matrix to focus resources effectively. The results included a stronger safety culture with fewer near misses, improved supply chain reliability, and operational efficiency, culminating in successful ISO 19443 certification in November 2024, which opened doors to global nuclear projects.
