Emirates Health Services becomes first to achieve ISO 42001 AI certification with LRQA

Emirates Health Services (EHS), a UAE government healthcare entity, sought to ensure the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence to enhance diagnostic accuracy in medical imaging, targeting 99% accuracy. Operating in a high-risk industry, EHS needed a robust AI management system aligned with international best practices, specifically the ISO 42001 standard. They partnered with assurance provider LRQA for an assessment against this standard.

LRQA delivered its first ISO 42001-based assessment, evaluating EHS's Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) to ensure effective governance, ethics, and transparency. As a result, EHS successfully completed the assessment, becoming the first organization to do so with LRQA. This milestone validated EHS's commitment to responsible AI innovation, enhancing its AI governance capabilities and reinforcing its goal to deliver safe and ethical AI-driven healthcare solutions.
