DEWA raises innovation focus by 40% with LRQA

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) faced the challenge of embedding a culture of innovation to meet national priorities set by UAE Vision 2021. To make innovation a central theme influencing all strategic decisions, DEWA engaged their existing vendor, LRQA, to find a solution based on the CEN/TS 16555-1:2013 innovation management system standard.

LRQA developed a bespoke offering that involved conducting site visits to assess DEWA's innovation management system and producing a detailed report for improvement. This solution enabled DEWA to successfully achieve verification to the standard. The results included a 40% increase in the focus on innovation within its strategic plan, the launch of an organization-wide Innovation Policy, and international recognition through awards for innovation and customer focus.
