The Chivery, the ecommerce shop for the popular blog theCHIVE, sells over 1,000 pop-culture products to a large, socially engaged audience (1.2M customers and ~40M monthly visitors). They wanted a quick, fully customizable loyalty solution that rewarded more than purchases and—six months after launch—needed to run a single program across multiple connected sites.
Launching with LoyaltyLion in October 2015 and using the Shopify app plus custom CSS, they gamified rewards for account creation, visits, referrals, photo uploads, scoring and social sharing, then connected The Chivery, theCHIVE and iCHIVE via Shopify Multipass (early 2016) so users share one account and points across sites. The program drove a 47% increase in engagement, delivers about 6% of annual revenue through LoyaltyLion and generates ~6,800 referred visitors per month.
