A Lowry Solutions Case Study

Preview of the City of Tyler Case Study

City of Tyler - Customer Case Study

The City of Tyler, a municipal government in northeast Texas, needed a better way to track IT assets across more than 30 departments and multiple buildings. Its manual, Access-based inventory process was time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to use for day-to-day tracking and annual budgeting. Lowry Solutions helped address this challenge with its Lowry Asset Control System (ACS), RFID tags, and mobile computers.

Lowry Solutions implemented a centralized, web-based RFID asset tracking solution using passive RFID tags and Motorola MC9090-RFID mobile PCs. The new system improved real-time asset visibility, increased accountability, and reduced the time needed for audits, while also making it easier for City of Tyler staff to locate relocated assets and generate inventory reports for year-end and budgeting needs.
