Greenhill & Co., an independent New York investment bank with 14 global offices, needed to secure highly sensitive client data accessed on employees’ BYO mobile devices, gain visibility into network attacks and data‑stealing malware (notably keyloggers), and meet Sarbanes–Oxley requirements. After an earlier pilot with a different vendor produced false positives and privacy concerns, Greenhill selected Lookout and its Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security solution to address these risks.

Lookout was deployed via Greenhill’s Citrix XenMobile MDM and rolled out to employee devices — including the firm’s 82 managing directors — giving admins actionable alerts and immediate network‑threat detection that notifies users before sensitive data is transmitted. The completed deployment improved visibility into malware and data‑leaking apps, reduced the risk of undetected compromises, and enabled Greenhill to pursue conditional‑access controls through Microsoft EMS/Intune, delivering a safer BYOD environment underpinned by Lookout.
