Case Study: Werkspot achieves real-time marketplace balance and self-serve analytics with Looker

A Looker Case Study

Preview of the Werkspot Case Study

Werkspot Leverages Looker to Improve Home Services

Werkspot is a Netherlands-based online marketplace (founded 2005) that connects homeowners with trusted home‑service professionals. As the business grew to 12,000 service professionals and millions of jobs, maintaining the supply‑vs‑demand balance required combining product, advertising, and CRM data from many sources. Their two-person BI team became overwhelmed with recurring report requests and long (two‑week) turnaround times for insights.

Werkspot implemented a Redshift data warehouse and Looker to create reusable LookML models and interactive dashboards, enabling self‑service exploration across marketing, sales, support, product, and management. The change cut decision time from weeks to minutes, made Looker the daily source of truth for most employees, avoided hiring five additional analysts (allowing hires to focus on data engineers and scientists), and delivered actionable marketplace controls—adjusting ad spend, managing signups, and empowering customer service and sales.
