Case Study: Wayfair achieves faster self-service analytics with Looker

A Looker Case Study

Preview of the Wayfair Case Study

Wayfair sets the pace of innovation in the home goods industry with on-demand data insights

Wayfair, a leader in home goods retail, needed a better way to unify analytics and give employees trustworthy, self-service access to data spread across more than 500,000 tables. Working with Looker, the company built a governed semantic layer with LookML to standardize business logic, access controls, data models, and KPI calculations, reducing dependence on IT for every report or dashboard request.

Looker helped Wayfair create a library of Explores, dashboards, aggregate tables, and persistent derived tables so teams could drill into metrics and build BI faster through Looker, Looker Studio, and Connected Sheets for Looker. The result was a major speed boost: users can now answer many questions in seconds or minutes instead of waiting weeks for IT, giving Wayfair faster, more consistent, and more scalable insights.
