Case Study: FACEIT achieves faster data-driven decisions and safer gaming experiences with Looker

A Looker Case Study

Preview of the FACEIT Case Study

Using data to create better gaming experiences at FACEIT

FACEIT is an esports platform with roughly 18 million users, 60 million monthly sessions, 800,000 daily active users and about 270,000 peak concurrent users. Rapid growth created vast amounts of data but also data silos, inconsistent metric definitions across multiple BI tools, and a backlog of reporting requests that slowed decision-making and feature rollouts.

FACEIT standardized on Looker integrated directly with BigQuery, built a shared data model and a network of “Looker champions” to drive adoption, and automated LookML view generation so new BigQuery tables are immediately usable. Today over half the company uses Looker (about two hours per day, ~200 queries), the BI team is no longer a bottleneck, ML-assisted toxic-message detection is in production, and the organization can act on accurate, timely insights to improve the player experience.
