Taipei Medical University Supporting education excellence with a highly available digital learning environment

Taipei Medical University, a leading medical education institution in Taiwan with more than 6,000 students and six affiliated hospitals, struggled with slow, unstable hybrid-cloud systems for admissions, course registration, and other academic affairs. The university also wanted to strengthen remote teaching and digital collaboration, and planned to use Looker to improve visibility into operations.

With support from Google Cloud partner CloudMile, Taipei Medical University migrated all administration systems to Google Cloud and upgraded Google Workspace for Education to Education Plus. The new setup improved response times by 3X, enabled systems to scale up computing resources by 15X, eliminated crashes during peak registration periods, and supported more than 600 meetings and lectures per day during COVID-19 lockdowns. Looker was identified as a future tool for better operational insights.
