Infectious Media is a UK programmatic advertising agency that runs more than 40 billion ad decisions a day across 50 countries and stores over 3.5 petabytes of data. The fast-paced business required accurate, real-time campaign analytics, but account teams either wrote error-prone SQL or depended on an analytics team that became a reporting bottleneck across two data sources (MySQL and BigQuery).
Implementing Looker gave business users self-service access to both data sources and in-database, real-time querying, so teams could build dashboards and drill down without SQL. Adoption grew to >80% of employees, query times fell to one-tenth, client reporting dropped from 8 to 2 hours per week, and two analysts now cover the work of six to seven—freeing analytics to focus on advanced modeling, optimization, and new use cases like weather-targeted ads and proactive brand-safety controls.
