Imagia is a Canada-based life sciences company that helps clinicians and researchers predict patient outcomes and detect disease markers from imaging data, while meeting strict protected-health-information rules. Its challenge was scaling AI research and securely handling sensitive medical data without the cost and limits of on-premises infrastructure, so it turned to Looker-enabled Google Cloud tools for support.

Looker and Google Cloud helped Imagia build a secure, scalable environment using services such as Google Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, Cloud IAM, Cloud Datalab, and TensorBoard to run and visualize AI experiments more efficiently. The result was faster discovery and collaboration, with 1,000-patient detection tests dropping from nearly 16 hours to under 1 hour, while improving compliance, access control, and overall AI innovation.
