Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) needed a modern data and analytics platform to replace siloed data storage and improve access to insights for patient care. To support clinical, imaging, and administrative data at scale, HMH used Google Cloud storage and BigQuery, and later adopted Looker to create a governed semantic layer for analytics and BI.

Using Looker, HMH built the Ekam “single source of truth” data layer in 12 weeks with Google partners, standardizing access, governance, and KPI calculations across teams. The result was a more uniform analytics platform, simpler data access for providers, and major performance gains, including 99% faster queries that helped unlock further innovation.
