Case Study: Travix International achieves scalable, self-service data analytics and IT efficiency with Looker

A Looker Case Study

Preview of the Travix International Case Study

Cruising to new data-driven heights with Looker and Google

Travix is a global online travel agency operating five main brands that generate over 20 million unique searches, producing rapidly growing BI data that overwhelmed its on‑premises dashboards and databases. By 2015 the infrastructure was struggling with performance, scalability, and high ops costs, so Travix set out to find a cloud-based, high-speed solution.

Travix migrated to Google Cloud Platform—using BigQuery for storage, Cloud Pub/Sub and Dataflow for streaming, Cloud Storage and Kubernetes for jobs—and adopted Looker for analytics and dashboards. The new platform supports over 50 TB of data, streaming throughput above 10,000 messages/sec, about 150 concurrent dashboard users (versus a dozen previously), and cut DevOps staffing from 10–15 people to 3, saving hundreds of hours per week while enabling self-service analytics and future ML plans.
