Building a teaching empire in the cloud to equip the next generation of teachers

Suraasa, a pedagogy-focused platform for teachers, needed better insights into how its learning content affected classroom outcomes and outgrew its old LMS setup. To support its growth, it sought a more agile cloud partner and platform, with Looker-style analytics needs implied by its desire to connect learning data to internal performance metrics.

Suraasa migrated to Google Cloud in 2021 and built a microservices-based infrastructure using services like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Build, and Google Kubernetes Engine. The new setup improved efficiency through automation and gave the team the scalability to handle major traffic spikes, including an International Teachers’ Olympiad with about 100,000 registrations, while supporting faster operations and value-added work.
