UBS AG relies on arcplan Enterprise for the five-quarter rolling forecast at the Corporate Center’s Controlling Department

UBS AG’s Corporate Center controlling needed to move from static monthly planning to a five‑quarter rolling forecast, but its existing MIS Alea with a custom Java front end couldn’t support continual revisions: templates had to be adjusted manually, access windows were short, and tracing extraordinary forecast values was difficult. The department therefore sought a more transparent, always‑available planning environment with minimal user training and better control over the process.

UBS and ontrix implemented an intranet recording and reporting solution based on arcplan Enterprise with an Applix TM1 multidimensional database, providing a single data cube, a dynamically moving timeline, automated population of new periods, dynamic subsets, plausibility checks and e‑mail notifications. Deployed in under seven months and used by 50+ Corporate Center users, the new system cut planning time, sped queries from minutes to seconds, improved information quality and reliability, and gave controllers clearer reporting and tighter process control.
