La Capitale, a Canada-based finance and insurance group, faced a labor-intensive, Excel-driven consolidation and monthly reporting process that caused data integrity problems, manual formula errors and left little time for financial analysis. After moving from Longview to Hyperion in 2009 and experiencing issues, the company reversed that decision in 2013 and looked to restore a more reliable, integrated solution.
By re-implementing insightsoftware’s Longview consolidation solution, La Capitale created a centralized repository that mirrors PeopleSoft structures and supports proportionate consolidation, IFRS, intercompany eliminations and recurring/calculated journal entries. The result was improved data integrity and granularity, a true “one version of the truth,” a faster, more efficient consolidation process and more time for finance teams to focus on analysis.
