Eschenbach Optik Gmbh In Market-Leading Position With Arcplan Enterprise

Eschenbach Optik GmbH, a Nuremberg–based optics manufacturer with nine European sales branches, 550 employees and roughly €100M in 2007 sales, needed a reliable, up-to-date view of its product and customer data to protect its market-leading position. Until 2003 reporting was static, monthly and inconsistent across sources, leaving management without a homogeneous, timely basis for spotting opportunities, risks and steering sales, purchasing and quality processes.

Working with MIP, Eschenbach implemented an arcplan Enterprise–based MIS (backed by Hyperion Essbase and IBM DB2) that provides a flexible data warehouse and web-accessible, interactive reports for about 50 managers and specialists. The system delivers standardized, drillable analyses across sales, purchasing and quality, enabling faster recognition of competitive advantages, improved sales and product management, and considerable time and cost savings through instant reporting and simpler resource planning.
