A Longview Case Study
InterSky Luftfahrt GmbH is a regional low‑fare airline based at Lake Constance (Friedrichshafen/Bregenz) operating four 50‑seat aircraft to European destinations; by 2008 it carried about 210,000 passengers and generated €29M in sales. The airline needed purposeful, current and multilayered sales and competitor information to optimize routes, fares and seat utilization, but its data was scattered across RADIXX, Excel and in‑house systems, leaving management to make decisions from partial, outdated information.
To fix this, InterSky implemented an automated EIS and data warehouse using arcplan Enterprise with Microsoft SQL Server and Analysis Services, integrating RADIXX and web‑sourced competitor data into a web app called “Trend Climbing” used by 15 employees. The solution delivers drillable KPIs (revenue by route/time, passenger counts, forecasts, daily financials, competitor pricing), halved report preparation time, reduced information costs, and enabled faster, more accurate pricing and scheduling decisions to optimize revenue and capacity while empowering staff.
