Case Study: eCooltra achieves real-time, streamlined multilingual app localization with Lokalise

eCooltra, a scooter motor‑sharing service operating in major European cities, needed to localize its app into multiple languages as it expanded across Milan, Rome, Barcelona, Valencia and Lisbon. Previously the team translated UI text in static text files — a slow, repetitive process — and they were looking for a TMS that offered real‑time over‑the‑air updates and fine‑grained contributor permissions. They evaluated options and chose Lokalise to address these needs.

Lokalise was implemented as eCooltra’s TMS with its Mobile SDK for OTA translation updates, Sketch plugin for contextual screenshots, and features like translation memory, machine translation and auto‑complete. Developers now push keys to Lokalise, the product manager pre‑populates translations and colleagues verify strings, cutting out file back‑and‑forth, speeding up releases and avoiding emergency app updates. The Lokalise workflow made localization notably faster and more reliable and positions eCooltra to roll out in new languages such as French, German and Dutch.
