Lemonade’s disruptive approach continues into localization

Lemonade, an AI-enabled full-stack insurance carrier, expanded into new European markets and ran into localization pain points: their previous TMS had no versioning, so multiple developers edited a shared translation pool, causing tracking difficulties, testing bottlenecks and deployment delays. To solve this they evaluated and chose Lokalise, using its project branching plus API and webhooks to support a feature-based localization workflow.

Lokalise’s branching, API and webhooks let Lemonade build a translation service that proxies branch-specific changes into each developer’s staging environment so translations can be tested and merged per feature without blocking others. The Lokalise-based integration eliminated deployment wait times, kept code cleaner, automated translation updates, and sped translation-related work 2–2.5×—cutting rollout time for new markets from about three weeks to roughly 1–1.5 weeks.
