Case Study: Depositphotos achieves 50% faster localization and a 25-fold reduction in keys with Lokalise

A Lokalise Case Study

Integrating Lokalise into the world’s largest photo bank: the experience of Depositphotos

Depositphotos, an international photo and video bank founded in 2009, faced an unmanageable SQL localization database that had ballooned to about 120,000 keys and could not be cleaned up. Seeking an integrated automated localization system, Depositphotos adopted Lokalise to centralize translation management across its website, mobile apps, the Crello editor, the Lightfield portal and social media.

By implementing Lokalise, Depositphotos shrank its keyset more than 25-fold to roughly 5,000 keys, brought data into order with filtering and translation history, and used integrations and webhooks (including a customized Slack webhook) to fit their workflow. Lokalise also allowed safe translator access and cut localization time by about half — from four months per language to roughly two to 2.5 months — improving efficiency for developers, localizers and translators.
