Bleacher Report, the digital sports media destination for millions of fans, needed a better way to monitor performance and troubleshoot issues across its distributed, cloud-based backend services. The company wanted a centralized logging solution that was quick to deploy, efficient at scale, and able to help identify production problems in real time; it evaluated the ELK Stack and selected Logz.io.

Bleacher Report implemented Logz.io’s fully managed, scalable ELK Stack with Filebeat to ship logs and custom tooling to format and route HTTP request data. With Logz.io, the team built Kibana dashboards to track response times, trace requests across microservices, and monitor key operational metrics, shipping about 80GB of logs per day. The result was a standardized logging infrastructure that significantly reduced time-to-resolution for production issues and saved days of debugging effort, according to Bleacher Report.
