Secure Member Administration DAV ensures GDPR compliance using the LogPoint SIEM solution

Deutscher Alpenverein, a membership association with more than one million members across 356 regional clubs, faced the challenge of protecting vast amounts of personal data and ensuring GDPR compliance across numerous IT systems accessed by staff and volunteers. To address this need they adopted LogPoint’s SIEM solution (introduced via partner microCat) to centralize log collection, analytics and security monitoring.

LogPoint implemented a tamper‑proof, audit‑ready central log repository and real‑time analytics ingesting data from 25 log sources, with dashboards and rule‑based alerts that reduced false positives, sped up security checks and enabled faster incident detection and response (for example identifying search engines overusing server resources). The deployment improved overall IT performance, provided full GDPR‑ready logging, now monitors all external and most internal systems, and delivered measurable gains in visibility and operational efficiency.
