The Association of Finnish Pharmacies (Apteekkariliitto) and its member pharmacy, Simonkylän Uusi Apteekki, faced the challenge of preventing the spoilage of temperature-sensitive medical products during e-commerce shipments. Traditional single-use data loggers and indicator stamps were inadequate, as they provided limited data and could not monitor conditions all the way to the end-customer, posing financial, health, and environmental risks. They sought a better solution to ensure product usability, partnering with the vendor Logmore.

Logmore implemented its QR Tags, small data loggers that could be included in every package to provide detailed, continuous temperature monitoring throughout the entire supply chain and even after delivery to the customer. This solution allowed both pharmacy employees and end-customers to instantly verify if products were usable via a simple scan. The results included enhanced quality assurance and a demonstration of trust, with 50% of the tags from the initial pilot being returned by customers for reuse, proving the system's effectiveness and user acceptance.
