Transforming optometric pedagogy at the Emeryville Clinic with Logitech and Zoom

The University of California, Berkeley's School of Optometry and Vision Science sought to modernize its pedagogical approach and overcome the limitations of its expensive and inflexible legacy AV systems at its new Emeryville Clinic. The school needed a cost-effective, scalable solution to support hyflex learning, ensure equitable access for all students, and enable effective collaboration for remote learners in a clinical training environment. To address this, they partnered with vendor Logitech.

Logitech implemented a solution featuring over 40 Zoom Rooms equipped with a suite of its products, including the Rally Bar, Rally Streamline Kit, Tap IP, and Scribe. This created engaging, scalable, and HIPAA-compliant hybrid learning and telehealth environments. The results for UC Berkeley included significant cost savings on deployment and maintenance, a more scalable and sustainable infrastructure, and enhanced collaboration that provided equitable access for remote students. The transformation serves as a blueprint for other institutions, demonstrating Logitech's ability to deliver flexible and future-proof educational spaces.
