Case Study: KPN achieves a scalable, improved-quality, lower-cost Citrix environment with Login VSI's Login AM

A Login VSI Case Study

Preview of the KPN Case Study

Flexible and scalable Citrix environment

KPN, the leading telecommunications and IT services provider in the Netherlands, needed to modernize and stabilize its Citrix environment that supports 4,000–5,000 global users and runs on roughly 200 virtualized servers. To upgrade to the latest Citrix XenApp on VMware vSphere and ensure 24/7 availability and better test/acceptance parity, KPN engaged Login Consultants and implemented Login AM from vendor Login VSI.

Using Login AM (Login VSI), KPN standardized its DTAP process, simplified management of the 200 Citrix servers, and made the environment highly scalable—administrators can add batches of VMs (for example, 50 machines) with a single command. The upgrade delivered measurable benefits: improved Citrix quality, reduced costs, greater flexibility, and enabled scaling toward an expected 10,000 users and support for a Windows 7 rollout across ~25,000 workstations.
