J.A. Henckels, the 270‑year‑old cutlery manufacturer, needed to modernize shipping to meet large retailers’ labeling, EDI and routing requirements while also serving smaller customers’ tracking and service needs. Vice President John Henkel selected Logicor and its GlobalShip iSeries shipping software (including the pack and compliance modules) to provide easy AS/400 integration, improved packing/shipping efficiency, implementation support, and post‑sale service.
Logicor implemented GlobalShip iSeries and the pack module with on‑site support during a weekend cutover, integrating directly with J.A. Henckels’ order entry/ERP to enable barcode scanning, carton‑level tracking, EDI compliance, and shipment consolidation. The solution reduced rekeying and misshipments, sped customer service resolution, avoided non‑compliance fees, and delivered about $150,000 in annual savings—paying for the Logicor investment within one year.
