Vulcan Information Packaging, a division of EBSCO and one of the country’s largest manufacturers of custom loose-leaf binders, needed a reliable, flexible, fully integrated shipping solution that would interface with their JD Edwards system and support UPS, FedEx (domestic and international) and LTL shipments. After evaluating vendors, Vulcan selected Logicor Inc. and its GlobalShip iSeriesTM, with Logicor accelerating the implementation and building the JD Edwards interface within Vulcan’s critical timeframe.
Logicor Inc. deployed GlobalShip iSeriesTM integrated with JD Edwards, giving customer service instant access to shipping data, enabling automated daily Accounts Payable batches to pay freight vendors, sending email shipping confirmations, and automatically processing large address files. The result was markedly improved shipping reliability and efficiency—GlobalShip iSeriesTM became a vital part of Vulcan’s operation and helped deliver their #1 overall shipping performance.
