Globe Telecom, a major Philippine telecommunications provider serving consumers and businesses through a vast network of employees, retailers and partners, faced the challenge of fully embedding a risk-aware culture and sustaining mature operational risk assessment and management across the organization. The company needed to break down silos, ensure front-line engagement and secure leadership and Board support to more consistently identify and mitigate risks that could affect its business objectives.

To address this, Globe implemented a structured ERM approach guided by the RMM, combining top-down enterprise assessments with bottom-up operational risk management and a cyclical ORM process for identification, assessment, treatment, monitoring and reporting. The program—driven by cross-functional collaboration, an 18-month plan split into a dozen workstreams, and active leadership involvement—earned RMM recognition and delivered a repeatable, board-reviewed process that strengthened risk oversight, mitigation and reporting.
