Building a Roadmap for GRC Maturity at United Community Bank

United Community Bank, a Greenville, SC–headquartered full-service regional bank with $22.5 billion in assets, faced an underdeveloped and under-adopted governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) program and wanted to uncover opportunities to integrate and optimize GRC across the enterprise. To diagnose and prioritize improvements, United Community Bank engaged LogicGate for its GRC Maturity Workshop and assessment.

LogicGate led a structured maturity assessment across Enterprise Risk Management, Controls Management, and Third‑Party Risk Management, benchmarking current scores (ERM 0.69 vs. peer target 2.1, Controls 1.27 vs. 1.5, TPRM 0.60 vs. 2.4) and defining UCB’s ideal states (ERM 2.8, Controls 2.7, TPRM 3.0). From the workshop LogicGate delivered a two‑year roadmap with six prioritized initiatives, secured executive buy‑in via an executive readout and final report, and helped United Community Bank begin implementing the plan on LogicGate’s Risk Cloud platform — including a rapid rollout of the Third‑Party Risk Management solution.
