CNO Financial Group, a Fortune 1000 insurance provider, partnered with technology solutions provider Logicalis to address data center efficiency through a comprehensive virtualization strategy. The company sought to improve performance and curb physical server sprawl within its main data center.

Logicalis implemented a solution using VMware vSphere 4, achieving a high consolidation ratio of 65 virtual machines to one physical host. This eliminated hundreds of physical servers, resulting in annual savings of approximately $400,000 in avoided hardware costs and $100,000 in energy savings.
