New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Deploys Logi Ad Hoc to Empower Users

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, one of the world's largest public health agencies (annual budget $1.6B, 6,000+ employees serving 8 million residents), faced a growing analytics challenge: data from many sources lived in disparate, complex systems and non-technical program staff needed fast, ad hoc access to reports (for programs like Asthma and Mental Hygiene). Existing BI tools (Business Objects) couldn't deliver the intuitive, web-based self-service reporting the Bureau of Informatics and Information Technology required, creating a backlog of IT report requests.

The Department implemented Logi Analytics' ad hoc reporting, trained users on the database and tool, and enabled browser-based, self-service report building. Users have produced over 7,000 reports, including geospatial school-flu maps and program-specific analyses, eliminating most IT report backlogs, removing SQL complexity for non-technical staff, and delivering measurable time and cost savings.
