Loggly Keeps the Monex Insight Development Team Efficient and Focused

Monex, Inc., together with TradeStation Group, develops Monex Insight, a consumer trading web app serving more than 1.5 million Japanese investors. The application runs on a Windows/.NET stack with MySQL on AWS. The development team had been running an in-house Graylog2 solution, but maintaining logging servers, updating software and managing disk space consumed valuable time (four to five hours per week or more) and distracted engineers from core development and faster incident diagnosis.

Monex deployed Loggly across development, QA, staging and production, tagging logs by environment, process and thread and adopting Loggly Dynamic Field Explorer and alerts for MySQL, application and connectivity errors. About 50 engineers, operators and analysts now use the centralized logs, which has saved more than five person-hours per week, sped debugging and root-cause analysis, reduced time-to-resolution, and freed the team to focus on higher-value work while improving customer experience.
