Case Study: Motus achieves real-time log aggregation and faster troubleshooting with Logentries

A Logentries Case Study

Preview of the Motus Case Study

Motus uses Logentries to aggregate, monitor and alert in real-time on its log data across its services platform running on virtual servers

Motus is a SaaS company that provides cloud-based mobile workforce and fleet management tools. As Motus shifted from a legacy PHP single-stack to a service-based architecture to support rapid growth and new integrations, its engineering team found its existing log solution (Splunk) too costly, on-premise, and time-consuming—developers, QA and ops were spending tens of hours weekly analyzing logs across 20 servers.

Motus trialed Logentries (and Loggly) and adopted Logentries for its intuitive interface, centralized log aggregation, real-time troubleshooting and alerting/tagging. The team used it to identify issues during live support calls, correlate app problems with hosting-provider issues, and leverage trend-charting to reproduce and isolate faults—improving uptime, speeding diagnosis, and making their cloud infrastructure manageable.
