Why VR flight training is critical—even at the top of the world

Air Greenland, the flag carrier airline operating in harsh Arctic conditions, faced significant challenges with pilot training. The high cost and logistical difficulty of sending pilots to distant simulator centers in Europe for mandatory training on their complex aircraft was inefficient and environmentally unsustainable. They sought a new training platform and turned to Loft Dynamics for a solution using its VR flight simulator.

Loft Dynamics implemented its FAA and EASA-qualified H125 VR simulator, customized with Greenlandic scenery and specialized mission features like HESLO operations. This solution allowed Air Greenland to conduct all training and checks locally at their base in Nuuk. The results included substantial cost savings from reduced travel and lower aircraft maintenance, a lighter environmental footprint, and a significant increase in training safety and realism. Loft Dynamics provided a tailored, effective solution that met the airline's unique operational demands.
