The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey selects Locus for Construction Projects’ Embodied Carbon Calculations

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey selected Locus Technologies to support its Clean Construction Program aimed at cutting embodied carbon across major airport, bridge and tunnel projects. The Port Authority, which has used the Locus Platform’s Waste Management application since 2019, needed a configurable solution to track and reduce emissions, divert at least 75% of concrete, asphalt and steel construction waste from landfills, and meet agency-wide greenhouse gas reduction targets (35% by 2025 and 80% by 2050).

Locus Technologies implemented its Locus Sustainable Construction application on the Locus Platform to streamline embodied carbon calculations and integrate construction waste and EHS data on a single, configurable system. The solution gives the Port Authority improved visibility into construction-related environmental impacts, supports the Clean Construction Program’s 75% diversion goal, and helps align project decision-making with the agency’s emission-reduction commitments.
