A Locus Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Chevron Case Study

Chevron centralizes data and streamlines data input and reporting with Locus’ EIM

Chevron, one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies, faced scattered remediation data across multiple suppliers in the United States with no reliable way to know where data lived or its quality. They were incurring transfer charges between consultants and lacked consistent reporting and data ownership. To address this, Chevron selected Locus Technologies’ EIM (Environmental Information Management) to centralize and manage remediation data.

Locus Technologies migrated Chevron’s data into EIM beginning in 2003, trained suppliers and labs to load new data, customized the formatted reporting tool per Chevron’s governance specs, and implemented usage tracking and a requirement that all data tables be generated from EIM. As a result, Chevron now maintains a single cloud-based repository available 24/7, has streamlined data input and reporting, improved data quality and consistency, and gained cross-site reporting and data-mining capabilities—with measurable governance via tracked report usage.
