JAS Contract Logistics boosts picking from 75 to 134 UPH with Locus Robotics

JAS Contract Logistics, a global shipping and warehousing company, faced significant labor challenges and operational inefficiencies at its flagship warehouse in the Netherlands. The physically taxing process of manually pushing heavy trolleys and using paper pick lists led to high associate turnover. To create a better work environment and improve fulfillment times, they turned to Locus Robotics for an automation solution.

Locus Robotics implemented its warehouse execution platform and 11 autonomous mobile robots, known as LocusBots. This solution automated the picking process, greatly improving associate ergonomics and morale. The implementation resulted in a dramatic increase in productivity, with units per hour (UPH) jumping from 75 to an average of 134. Locus Robotics also provided improved data visibility for managers and helped JAS achieve significantly better employee retention.
