A LocknCharge Case Study
SUNY Fredonia, a small university with around 4,000 students, faced a challenge providing its students with easy access to technology. Their manual laptop checkout process was inefficient for students and a burden on IT staff. The university needed an automated, trackable, and secure solution from LocknCharge to run a laptop lending program without increasing their workload.
LocknCharge implemented its ForwardPass Smart Locker system to create a self-service model. This allowed students to borrow and return laptops on their own, automating the entire process. For SUNY Fredonia, this resulted in streamlined checkouts with full visibility, eliminated manual record-keeping for IT, and freed up space by downsizing from 30 desktop stations to 14. The success of the program has led to plans for expansion across campus.
