Improving Device Insights with Global Site ID and Carrier Location

KORE, the largest global IoT and M2M service provider, faced growing customer demand for instant asset location while many of its more than 500,000 tracking devices lacked GPS or Wi‑Fi capability. Customers using older or cost-efficient non‑GPS units could not be located, driving higher operating and service costs and creating a need for a carrier‑agnostic location solution. To address this, KORE partnered with LocationSmart and evaluated LocationSmart’s Global Site Identification (GSID) and mobile network location services.

KORE selected LocationSmart as its exclusive launch partner and integrated GSID and LocationSmart’s mobile network location APIs into its product suite, rebranding the capability as KORE LOCATE and exposing it through the PRiSMPro platform. The LocationSmart solution enables location of any GSM, Wi‑Fi, CDMA, WCDMA (UMTS) or LTE device (including roaming) across 200+ countries, with cloud‑based APIs (no device changes or downloads) and large cell/Wi‑Fi coverage footprints. As a result, KORE now offers low‑cost, instant, trusted location for all devices, reducing operations and service expenses, enabling new revenue opportunities, and simplifying deployment via LocationSmart’s cloud platform.
